In general, people dedicated to exercise think that when talking about the core it refers only to the abdominal area, however, in the following paragraphs I am going to talk about the importance of exercise the core zone.
If you are one of the people who is really dedicated to exercising on a regular basis or who practices a sport, the core and its strengthening should be a basic aspect in your training, with me as your sports coach, you will learn its relevance.
Core, comes from the English word, which translated into Spanish is equivalent to the core or center, and incorporates not only the abdominal muscles, it also contains the deep musculature of the spine, pelvis, buttocks, and lumbar muscles.
Of course, all these muscle groups are located in the center of the body and act as the support of the body weight, preventing it from falling only on the bones, from there most of the force used for various actions is exerted.
From the most everyday to the specific
With the strengthening of the core we can even improve annoying back pain when we sit for a long time in the office and it is an almost mandatory exercise for accomplished cyclists or professional soccer players.
These muscle groups help us for everyday actions such as lifting heavy objects, kicking a ball, improving stability and power when cycling, and even standing still without major complications.
The core muscles can be subdivided into three large groups: the abdominals, the lower back, and the hips, undoubtedly important for breathing issues, basic movements, and proper posture.
These well-exercised muscles give us a lot of efficiency in our movements, which makes us more powerful and with greater performance when it comes to developing any type of sports discipline.
Exercises
One of the exercises that contributes the most to the core is the mythical iron, the fact of complying with this exercise from 5 to 10 minutes a day will give us a better performance, to learn everything about the iron you can consult with me.
The traditional plank from the front, the side or inverted are undoubtedly fundamental exercises to strengthen this area of the body, we can also do different types of sit-ups or practice Pilates or yoga.
Why is the core zone important?
A strong core helps us to improve balance, we will be more physically and mentally stable, and impacts on the body, for example, in combat sports, can be absorbed more effectively, without affecting the bone structure as much.
People who do regular exercises to strengthen the core are less likely to suffer from chronic back or lumbar pain and, of course, also significantly reduce the possibility of suffering injuries.
In fact, back pain, the usual discomfort in the lower back, uncomfortable postures in the lower back, the so-called cramps, are the result of not exercising the core in beginner athletes.
